Administrative Experience:

Educational Philosophy: participating in the arts through a practice of inquiry and discovery provides students and adults with kinesthetic, cognitive, affective and aesthetic experiences that are essential to human development. Innovation, risk-taking and creative problem-solving in the arts can teach new ways of reasoning, thinking, understanding and living in the world. Through the arts, we can learn to reflect critically, going beyond the technical skills of simple craft to building the foundation for their own aesthetic based on their perceptions and interpretations of their experience. As a teaching artist I bring unique artistic perspectives into the classroom to inspire, guide and mentor students and adults. We can help serve as professional role models for others to discover their own life’s work through concentration, effort and commitment. As a teaching artist we help students and adults to experience the joy of learning in and through the arts. As a teaching artist along with classroom and professionals in their field of work we can collaboratively develop a learning environment that will nurture creativity and curiosity, engage in a continuous process of reflection and assessment of work, improve and inform teaching practices, enhance learning, respect and meet the levels of skills, knowledge, ability and understanding.

Entrepreneurial skills as Arts Administrator/Teaching artist, to develop and implement programs for schools and audiences to bridge their enrichment and attendance to performances and providing access to discussions with artists and experts in the fields to the NYC and LI Schools. Developed study guides using the NYS Learning Standards, and NYC Blueprints for Teaching and Learning in the Arts. Worked and hired artist with experience in areas of Dance, Theater, Music, Film and the Visual Arts.  A public speaker, who has written and collaborated with principals and administrators to form partnership programs with teacher and student evaluations.

• Research potential moderators, panelists, develop, and manage “Artist Talks/Master Class.

• Keynote speaker for special events, series and for other initiatives.

• Attend and oversee implementation of events.  

• Interact with artists and artist management involved in productions

and the planning and implementing programs, research, collect, distribute materials on productions for participants.

• Manage collaborations with other agencies.

• Participate in planning and implementation of Education and Humanities programs.

• Collect, write, and edit biographical and other information for program 

Playbills, flyers, and brochures for Humanities events and oversee the production of these    materials.

• Draft letters of agreement between organizations and participants                                   

• Arrange travel, tickets, and other artist services.

• Work with other departments and staff on production for events

• Manage the education programs for teachers and students for in-school residencies, as well as teacher professional development programs.
